Determination of authenticity and treatments is based on the physical and optical
properties and internal characteristics (eg, inclusions and growth structures) using
standard gemmological instruments. The conclusion on the authenticity and treatment of
gemstones is an opinion of the laboratory. In case of any disputes or any claims by anyone
towards the report, the IGI will not accept any liability.
The goods are deposited and accepted by the IGI provided that
depositor assumes entire
responsibility for loss through theft or burglary without recourse to the IGI.
No responsibility of any sort shall attach to the Laboratory for loss or damage to the
goods at whatever time occurring, even when occasioned by negligence, default, error of
judgement or willful or fraudulent act of the IGI.
No responsibility shall attach to the IGI for damage which may arise
directly or
indirectly from any mistake or inaccuracy in any Report issued by the Laboratory whether
occasioned by negligence or otherwise howsoever.
IGI is on no account responsible for possible dissimilarities and/or
differences that
could appear from repeated examinations or as a result of other method applied or the
possible inaccuracy due to technical/mechanical errors of the equipments used.
Grading in mounted jewellery is done as per mounting permits.
Metal purity/Metal Weight/Number of Stones/Weight of Stones are as per client disclosure
and are not verified by IGI.
IGI does not conducts CVD (Carbon Vapour Deposition) Diamond Testing.
No opinion of any type would be given about the quality and value.
The gem Material deposited for testing should be taken in 7 days time otherwise the
laboratory will not be held responsible for any damage. Also no claim for the said material
shall be accepted by the laboratory.
The IGI on no account responsible for any situation arising due to
loss of original
certificate information on the website, or stoppage of online services provided at
https://igiindia.org due to any reason. IGI can stop online
services at any moment.
